As an HGV driver assigned to driving a refuse collection truck, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in waste collection, while working in a stimulating environment.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Driving a heavy goods vehicle with a household refuse compactor, in compliance with the Highway Code and safety instructions.

  • Following the collection route and making safe stops for the refuse collectors.

  • Monitoring the correct operation of the compacting system and checking the compliance of the collection.

  • Ensuring the safety of colleagues during manoeuvres and communicating effectively to keep the collection running smoothly.

  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any anomaly.

  • Applying safety regulations and guaranteeing a healthy and safe working environment for everyone.

Your profile:

  • Valid category C driving licence +CQC(driver card) up to date, with confirmed experience in HGV driving, ideally on refuse trucks or special vehicles.

  • Good driving skills in urban areas and knowledge of how a refuse collection truck works.

  • Good knowledge of the Lausanne area and the canton of Vaud in general.

  • Ability to manage a route efficiently and to manoeuvre in confined spaces.

  • Sense of responsibility, team spirit, punctuality and courtesy towards the public.

  • Availability to work staggered hours, early in the morning and sometimes on Saturdays.
